Isn't it time to drop restrictions on hospital visitors? There is little question that loneliness and isolation have been among the worst effects of the pandemic. Visitors are important as long as they are wearing PPE or personal protective equipment. We have read story after story of people whose loved ones went to the hospital for a procedure unrelated to COVID, and with no COVID infection, dying from it in the hospital alone.
What happened to them once they were in there? Who was watching out for them? This is an outrage. It is important to have an advocate when you are hospitalized, who can make sure everything is being done to protect you. The lack of emotional support from visitors while being treated in a sterile hospital environment has profound effects. Who is watching over the hospitals to make sure they are not committing malpractice?
It is time to drop the restrictions once and for all. If you think your loved one may have been the victim of negligence or malpractice in a hospital, call me, Gloria Seidule, today.
